The World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (hereinafter referred to as the WFCMS), Chinese Medicine Hemodialysis Industry Development Committee was established in Beijing. Professor Liu Wenjun, director of the Blood Purification Center of China Academy of Chinese Medical Science Guanganmen Hospital, was elected as the first chairman of the committee.
Chronic kidney disease is a chronic disease that seriously endangers the health of Chinese residents. According to epidemiological statistics, the incidence of adult chronic kidney disease in China is as high as 10.8%, with about 120 million potential patients, and it is increasing year by year.
According to the estimated 1.5% proportion of patients with chronic kidney disease who will develop into the patients with end-stage renal disease in the United States, there are more than 2 million patients with end-stage renal disease in China. "Most of patients with end-stage renal disease need to maintain treatment through hemodialysis. By the end of 2016, there were about 500,000 hemodialysis patients in China, which has surpassed the United States and become the world's first hemodialysis country." by Professor Liu Wenjun introduced.
Professor Liu Wenjun introduced that the WFCMS Chinese Medicine Hemodialysis Industry Development Committee is a committee organization combining production, education and research. And it is also an comprehensive development committee, including expert, scholar, enterprise, manufacturer, research institution, university and other units and individuals in the field of hemodialysis in the country and around the world.
The main work includes the development of traditional Chinese medicine to slow chronic renal failure before dialysis, the software development and application of hemodialysis information management, the establishment of a hemodialysis center with the characteristics of Chinese medicine, the development and treatment participation of traditional Chinese medicine for blood complications, the quality control and standard construction of Chinese medicine hemodialysis, and the training of Chinese medicine unit hemodialysis etc.
It is reported that the WFCMS Chinese Medicine Hemodialysis Industry Development Committee has set up a hemodialysis information management platform. According to Lu Ying, general manager of Suzhou Huamo Information Technology Co., Ltd., who is responsible for the construction of the platform, the platform will use the interconnection and big data to integrate the relevant information of Chinese dialysis patients, strengthen the quality monitoring and rehabilitation management of dialysis, and provide data support through establish and improve the hemodialysis standards of Chinese medicine.
